Out of the Aether... the idea came to me out of the Aether...

What is this Aether?

It began from a lifelong fascination with the whole idea of the Aether, which seems to be there, under different names, in all cultures worldwide. It goes way back beyond history. It's a vast, unlimited subject but you have to start somewhere. This project is such a start.

A few learned and enthusiastic individuals with plenty to say about the Aether were recorded voicing their thoughts. Then a few more, and so on, until we had a diverse group of people, all respected in their fields, discussing their understanding of the Aether and its relationship to our lives.

Then it needed some narrative to link them together. Suddenly we had eight hours of audio, and a book formed from the transcript.
